Comprehensive Hearing & Audiology Assessments
Hearing loss can be subtle, but accurate testing provides the first step toward better communication. Our Audiology department conducts thorough hearing evaluations for both adults and children in a sound-treated environment. Serving Siliguri, Sikkim, and the North Eastern region, we provide the precise data needed for medical clearance or hearing aid fittings.

Comprehensive Services & Tests Offered
Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA)
The standard behavioural hearing test used to determine the quietest tones a person can hear at different frequencies, plotting the exact degree of hearing loss.
Tympanometry (Impedance Audiometry)
An objective examination that measures the movement of the eardrum in response to changes in air pressure to detect middle ear issues.
OAE (Otoacoustic Emissions)
A rapid, painless test that measures the sound waves produced by the inner ear, commonly used as a primary screening tool for newborns.
BERA (Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry)
A highly advanced neurological test that measures the brain's electrical response to auditory stimuli, crucial for infants and non-verbal patients.
Highlighted Procedures

Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA)
Conducted in a soundproof booth, this test is the foundation of a hearing assessment for adults.

Tympanometry
Frequently used for children prone to ear infections to determine if fluid is trapped behind the eardrum.

BERA Test
An objective evaluation that requires no active participation, making it the gold standard for definitive pediatric hearing diagnostics.
What to Expect
Your journey from consultation to results, explained.
- 01Before
When should I consider this test?
You should book a hearing evaluation if you find yourself asking people to repeat themselves frequently, struggle to hear in noisy environments, experience ringing in the ears (tinnitus), or if your doctor requires hearing clearance for employment. Tests like OAE or BERA are recommended for newborns to rule out congenital hearing loss.
- 02During
What happens during the procedure?
For adults, you will sit comfortably inside a quiet, soundproof booth wearing headphones. You will be asked to raise your hand or press a button whenever you hear a beep or tone. For infants undergoing BERA, small sensors are placed on the head while they are asleep, and the machine automatically records the brain's response to sounds.
- 03After
How soon will I get my report?
Audiograms and tympanometry results are plotted instantly. The audiologist will interpret the data, and your finalized hearing report is generally provided on the same day.
