What to Expect

Your journey from consultation to results, explained.

  1. 01Before

When should I consider this test?

You should consult your doctor about endoscopic procedures if you suffer from persistent digestive issues, such as chronic acid reflux, unexplained abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, changes in bowel habits, or visible blood in your stool. Colonoscopies are also highly recommended as a routine screening for colon cancer for adults over the age of 45.

  2. 02During

    What happens during the procedure?

To ensure your complete comfort, you will be given a sedative to help you relax. The gastroenterologist will gently guide a thin, flexible tube equipped with a light and high-definition camera through your digestive tract to carefully inspect the lining. You will be monitored continuously throughout the short procedure.

  3. 03After

How soon will I get my report?

The doctor will typically discuss the visual findings with you and your attendant immediately after you wake up from the sedation. If any biopsies were taken during the procedure, those tissue samples are sent to our pathology lab, and the formal biopsy report will be ready in a few days.
